Nicki Minaj had an interview on Thursday with Zane Lowe on Beats 1 to promote her new singles “Chun-Li” and “Barbie Tingz.” She also addressed the rumors of a supposed beef with Cardi B.
"The only thing that Cardi did that really hurt my feelings was the first interview after 'Motorsport' came out,” Nicki said. “It just really hurt me because the only thing she kept saying was, 'I didn't hear that verse. She changed her verse.'"
"I kind of felt ambushed,” Nicki continued, especially after Quavo "didn't back [her] up" on the story of how the record came about.
Nicki also said that Quavo's told her: "I would go on Twitter and back you up if you were my girl." Plus, Nicki says that she wanted to shoot the "Motorsport" video with Cardi B, but there was a scheduling conflict due to her hairdresser, who couldn't make it on the day Cardi was shooting.

“All of them allowed me to look like I lied and even with the scheduling conflict, she’s using my hairdresser now, so even he can attest to the fact that there was a scheduling conflict,” Nicki said.
“I really fully supported her and up until this recent interview I had never seen her show me genuine love in an interview,” she said. “I can just imagine how many girls wish they could of been on a song with Nicki Minaj. I’m not saying it in a cocky way.” Nicki was audibly upset as she spoke.

In late October of last year, Nicki took to Twitter to address rumors that were circulating about the song. She revealed then that she was initially told the song would be just her and Quavo, but he asked her for permission to add Cardi B to the song, which she okayed.

About a month later, Cardi B did a radio interview in which she was notably awkward when asked about Nicki Minaj. In that interview, she said that when she first heard “Motorsport,” Nicki’s verse wasn’t finished, and what she heard was different from the verse that is on the final song.
Cardi has also repeatedly denied any beef between the two and she recently spoke about Nicki in her interview on Beats 1 Radio with Ebro.
"I just feel like it's really internet made-up," Cardi told Ebro last week. "I really feel like fans and people really want to see that happen because it's really entertaining. To see people beef is entertaining."
