R&B star Janelle Monae has come out as pansexual.
"Being a queer black woman in America, someone who has been in relationships with both men and women, I consider myself to be a free-ass motherf**ker," she said.

Janelle told Rolling Stone, she first identified as bisexual. But that it all changed when she learned about pansexuality. Now, she said, she’s free.
“I read about pansexuality and was like, ‘Oh, these are things that I identify with too,’” she said, noting that she’s open to learning more about herself.
Pansexuality, or omnisexuality, is described as the sexual, romantic or emotional attraction towards people regardless of their sex or gender identity. Pansexual people may refer to themselves as gender-blind, asserting that gender and sex are not determining factors in their romantic or sexual attraction to others.
Her latest videos, like “Make Me Feel,” feature Janelle seemingly drawn to both genders.
“If you listen to my albums,” she told the magazine, “it's there.”
Janelle's new 14-track album, Dirty Computer, is due out this Friday.
I am thankful to all my musical heroes who graced this cover before me . Thank you @RollingStone for recognizing this lil’ #DirtyComputer - JM ๐ค๐๐๐ฟ https://t.co/Y6zGNifi5V— Janelle Monรกe, Cindi (@JanelleMonae) April 26, 2018
