Mariah Carey redeems herself with New Year's Eve performance

Mariah Carey redeemed herself from her 2016 disaster of a New Year's Eve performance. 

This year, the diva sang again in Times Square to close out the end of the year in her white fur, long glittery dress, and sparkling diamonds. She started off singing her classic first single "Vision of Love" in the frigid New York weather. Before singing "Hero," Mariah wanted to take a sip of some tea.

“Happy New Year!” Mariah said. “Just want to take a sip of tea if they’ll let me. They told me there would be tea. Oh! It’s a disaster. Okay. Well, we’ll just have to rough it. I’m going to be just like everybody else with no hot tea. But we’re going to try and do this one for you.”

Even without the tea, Mariah sang much better than her previous lip-synching performance from last year.
