Chrisette Michele Further Explains Why She Sung At Donald Trump's Inauguration + Her Family Disowned Her (Video)
Let's all have a moment of silence for the artist formerly known as Chrisette Michele...
Okay, moment over ...
So, it's been a week non-stop since people first started roasting Chrisette after finding out she agreed to perform at little hands' (a.k.a Donald Trump) inauguration.
Even Spike Lee has now refused to use her music in his upcoming Netflix series.
He posted, "I Wuz Sorry To Read That "Sistuh Girl" Is Singin' At DT's Inauguration (And To Use His Fav Word-SAD). I Wuz Thinkin' 'bout Using Chrisette's Song- BLACK GIRL MAGIC In My Netflix Series SHE'S GOTTA HAVE IT.... NOT ANYMORE. And Dat's Da Truth, Ruth."
Well, Chrisette visited Power 105.1 'The Breakfast Club' show this morning to explain, yet again, why she decided to perform for little hands.
"I needed them to see us,” the R&B singer said. “I needed them to see what we have to say, what we look like, how we talk. With the entire campaign experience..."
And, peep this...
After all this backlash and even after she confessed her own family disowned her after she performed for little hands, Chrisette didn't even get a chance to meet the new president!
So no, Chrisette, THEY still don't see you.
I hope that $250,000 check was worth it though!
