Just A Quick Rant...
Crossing guards... they're everywhere during the week ... at 7:45 a.m. and at 2:45 p.m. sharp ... rain or shine, waiting to cross the lil' kiddos across the street.
See, back when I was in school, I liked them. You know, cars wouldn't just stop at a busy intersection, so it was nice to have the crossing guard there. Plus, my crossing guard was dope and would speak to me everyone morning.
But, now that I'm on the other side, now that I'm a driver... I don't like the little games some of these crossing guards play.
A couple years back, I got into a minor altercation with one crossing guard in my town. She whipped out her STOP sign at the very last second which caused me to step on my brakes at the very last second. I hate that! That's just putting unnecessary wear and tear on my brakes.
I stopped, but my car happened to be inside the white lines of the pedestrian crosswalk. So, ol' crossing guard lady pointed at me, yelled some mess (I couldn't hear hear what she yelled because my windows were up and my music was blasting) ... AND, ol' lady had thee nerve to slam her hand on the hood of my car.
No this bish didn't!?
I had to park my car and get out.
Don't yell at me like I'm a criminal and DO NOT touch my car.

So yeah, that was strike #1 with these crossing guards.
As time went by, I started avoiding certain crossing guard areas all together or if I had to go that way, I would try and leave the house a little earlier before school was over so I wouldn't be stuck in all that traffic mess.
My thing with these crossing guards are, just because you hold up a little ol' red STOP sign doesn't give you the right to be an a**hole.
Yes, crossing guards play an important role in making sure our kids can safely cross the street. But, don't abuse your lil' bit of "power."
Give drivers enough time to break so they can stop ahead of time. DON'T throw up your lil' STOP sign at the last second when you see a car coming and THEN get mad with me IF I don't stop OR if my car happens to be in the crosswalk!
And, do crossing guards even have the right to play like they're the traffic light and back up traffic for a mile?!?

I've seen a bunch of BS happen way too many times with the crossing guards in my area and I'm sick of it.
Rant over.
I'm now off to my happy place...
Goosfraba!
