Yasss, the singers came out to SANG at the 10th annual Black Girls Rock! awards ceremony which filmed on Friday, April 1 at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Newark, NJ.
The event (which aired last night) was hosted by actress Tracee Ellis Ross who killed her opening performance sequence.
Black Girls Rock! celebrated a number of honorees this year, including Rihanna, Gladys Knight, Shonda Rhimes, Danai Gurira, Amanda Stenberg, plus the Black Lives Matter founders Patrisse Cullors, Alicia Garza and Opal Tometi.
Performances:
Brandy poured her heart out on the stage with a theatrical performance of her newest single "Beggin & Pleadin," Jazmine Sullivan showed us how beauty comes in all shapes and sizes when she beautifully sang "Masterpiece," and Monica performed "Alone In Your Heart," the newest single off her latest album Code Red.
Other performers included: Marsha Ambrosius, Andra Day, Corrine Bailey Rae, and a surprise performance from Lauryn Hill who closed out the show.
