UPDATED: Giuliana Rancic Issues On-Air Apology to Zendaya: "It's Not My Intent That Matters, It's the Result"

*UPDATE BELOW

Giuliana Rancic has issued a public on-air public apology to Zendaya Coleman and anyone else she may have offended.

Just a little while ago on E! News, Giuliana addressed the comments during Monday's Fashion Police, when she suggested Zendaya's hair at the Oscars smelled like “patchouli” or “weed.”

“I didn’t intend to hurt anybody, but I’ve learned it is not my intent that matters, it’s the result. And the result is that people are offended, including Zendaya, and that is not okay,” Giuliana said Tuesday night

“Therefore, I want to say to Zendaya and anyone else out there that I have hurt, that I am so, so sincerely sorry.”

The Fashion Police host said the incident has taught her to be a lot more aware of clichés and stereotypes and how much damage they can do.

Earlier, her show co-host, Kelly Osbourne, tweeted about the controversy and said she was questioning remaining on the show. Other celebrities like Khloe Kardashian and Tanisha Thomas also weighed in on Giuliana's comments.

UPDATE: Wednesday, Feb. 25

Zendaya has responded to Giuliana's on-air apology with a message on her Instagram page. The 18-year-old actress accepts Giuliana's apology and said she is glad it was a learning experience for her and the E! network. Read her full statement below:
