Eye-Popping Grammy's Moment: Kanye West Strikes Again, Says Beck "Needs to Respect Artistry," Kim Kardashian Throws Shade

The Beygency was in full force last night during the 57th annual Grammy Awards, especially after Beyonce shouted out her Bey Hive while accepting her award for 'Best R&B Performance' for "Drunk In Love."

At the top of the Beygency is Kanye West, and we almost had a 2009 MTV Movie Awards moment happen again.

Beck won 'Album of the Year' for Morning Phase, beating out the top winner of the night Sam Smith, Pharrell, and yes, Beck beat Beyonce's self-titled 2013 album.

As Beck was accepting his award from Prince, Kanye jumped up on stage and I think everyone watching was saying, "oh my gosh, no!"

But, Kanye seemed like he was playing at first as he referenced his infamous 2009 VMA's incident where he interrupted Taylor Swift's acceptance speech and ranted about how Beyoncé deserved to win. Remember that? How can anyone forget.

In 2009, Kanye went onstage, grabbed the mic from Taylor and said, "Yo, Taylor, I'm really happy for you, I'ma let you finish, but Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time!"

This time at Grammy's, Kanye didn't say anything. He thought about it, but turned around and headed back to his seat while the crowd seemed to laugh, even Beyonce and Jay-Z.

Beck took it like a champ and didn't seem to mind. In fact, he was telling Kanye to come back on stage.

Well, we might have thought Kanye was joking as the show was airing, but Kanye was dead serious. During E!'s post-Grammy show, the leader of the Beygency explained that his halfway Beck interception was a protest in itself.

"If they want real artists to keep coming back, they need to stop playing with us," Kanye said. "Beck needs to respect artistry, and he should have given his award to Beyonce."

Kanye continues to say, "At this point, we tired of it. What happens is, when you keep on diminishing art, and not respecting the craft, and smacking people in the face after they deliver monumental feats of music, you’re disrespectful to inspiration."



Wow, what a bold statement! Kanye has no chill, lol. Love him or hate him, Kanye West will always say whatever he wants.

In regards to his comments and in my opinion, I was rooting for Beyonce, but I haven't listened to Beck's Morning Phase album which won. So, I would hope Kanye listened to Beck's album before making comments like that.

And another thing, obviously Kanye loves Beyonce and I do too, but the fact is, she lost. Even Bey took it like a champ. So to ask the winner to give their award to the artist who lost is ludicrous.

Well, Sam Smith made a comment saying he would give his award to Beyonce if he won.

Ohhh, look Bey, Kanye is joking ... Hahaa! It's safe to laugh now!

As TMZ reports, Kanye clarified his comments as he arrived in New York City on Monday.

After being asked by a reporter if he intended to imply that Beck wasn't an "artist," the rapper said, "I wasn't saying Beck; I said the Grammys. Beck knows that Beyoncé should have won; you know that."

When asked if he had even heard of Beck "before yesterday," Kanye added, "Come on, man. I love Beck! But he didn't have the Album of the Year."

So what does Beck think? At a Grammy's after party, Beck told US Weekly, "I was just so excited he was coming up. He deserves to be on stage as much as anybody,"

Beck said when asked how he felt about Kanye crashing the stage, "How many great records has he put out in the last five years right?"

Beck even said Beyonce should have won, "I thought she was going to win. Come on, she's Beyonce!"

Even Kanye's wife joined the shade party. She uploaded a photo to Instagram last night of her, John Legend and Chrissy Teigen and said, "This is the Beck won that award face?!?!?!"

Oh and about that 2009 incident, don't worry. That was sooo five years ago. Kanye and Taylor are BFF's now! Lol.
