Lil' Wayne Update: He is Released From Hospital After Heath Scare

Rapper Lil' Wayne has been released from the hospital in Los Angeles after news of a health scare started flooding the internet over the weekend.

"Thanks to Cedar Sinai for everything!!! (Lil Wayne) has been officially released and is headed home .... God is great," Mack Maine, rapper and president of Young Money Entertainment, said on Twitter late on Monday.

Birdman, who often refers to himself as Lil Wayne's father, tweeted, "God Bless.my son just release frm hospital.thanks 4 all tha luv."

Gossip website TMZ.com reported that Lil Wayne, 30, was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center on March 13th after suffering a series of seizures and said that he spent several days in intensive care. TMZ even reported Friday that Lil Wayne was near death.

After all the reports, a message appeared on Lil' Wayne's account which read, "I'm good everybody."

Nicki Minaj visited Lil' Wayne in the hospital over the weekend and had a bunch of balloons with her.

Even though seizures are stated as the case, it hasn't been said what exactly happened to Lil' Wayne but he is now reportedly recovering from whatever he was suffering from. He suffered several unexplained seizures in the past few months, including two in January while on a plane flight.

Some speculated that Lil' Wayne's seizure was triggered by an overdose of codeine which is found in a concoction called "sizzurp."

Birdman addressed the rumors in an interview with Hot 97's Angie Martinez and he said that "it had nothing to do with drugs."

"To me, honestly, it's his work ethic," he said. "How hard he works. How much dedication he gives to his music and his fans."

Birdman added that Lil Wayne "just needs to get some rest and relax. He'll be back, normal, like everyone else."

Lil' Wayne is scheduled to release the new album I Am Not a Human Being II next week.
