Celebs Play 'Words With Friends' For Charity

Celebrities are playing the scrabble-like Zynga game, Words With Friends, in a celebrity challenge for the chance to win $500,000 which they'll donate to the charity of their choice.

The tournament begins tomorrow Sept. 27 at 2 p.m.  (round 1, match 1) between Snoop Lion (the former "Snoop Dogg") and Jonah Hill.

Other celeb players include John Legend, Paul Pierce, Eva Longoria, Kristen Bell, Edward Norton and Sophia Bush.

Play Words With Friends to help your celebrity team earn even more money for their causes. And, you can also win a chance to play your favorite celebrity. Fans can also donate to one of eight charities through CrowdRise, a fundraising site founded by Norton. The tournament runs through October 3.

I'm on board, I joined John Legend's team!

“We are all about making fundraising fun through competition and games at CrowdRise, so this couldn't be a better partnership for us,” Norton said in a press release.
“Zynga knows a thing or two about social gaming, and it's awesome to see them using that knowledge to engineer impact.”
