Yvette Wilson who is best known in TV shows Moesha and its spin-off show The Parkers as "Andell Wilkerson" died yesterday (June 14) after a battle of cervical cancer. She experienced kidney failure and needed a kidney transplant, according to reports.
In January, one of Yvette's friends created a website to help raise money for her medical bills.
"Yvette has experienced kidney failure, kidney transplants and cervical cancer, among other things," the site reads.
"Her cancer has come back after an extended retreat, and doctors are saying it's very aggressive this time out."
Yvette began her career as a stand-up comedian before appearing on television shows and movies such as Poetic Justice and House Party 2.
Her Moesha co-star Shar Jackson tweeted:
"F*** Cancer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! … Oh god..... My heart is soooo unbelievably broken .... I wanna thank all my tweeties for their prayers but god has chosen to take my sister Yvette home."
