Nicki Minaj Says She's Getting Tired of the Lady Gaga Comparisons (Video)

When Nicki Minaj first blew up on the rap scene I decided to be her for Halloween. I wore the pink wig, the contacts and did crazy, bugged out facial expressions all night.

One person actually didn't know who Nicki Minaj was and didn't get my costume. When I explained that Nicki is like the black Lady Gaga, they said "ohhh!"

Well, in a recent interview with ABC's Nightline, Nicki Minaj spoke on all the Gaga comparisons and said:

 

"First of all, I'm a rapper. I'm from south Jamaica, Queens. What are the similarities?... Wigs? Every female in this game wears wigs. Over-the-top costumes? Ehh. Try again. It's getting tired now though, to me. In the beginning I was like, okay, it's cool, hahaha, when they get to know me they'll understand me. Gaga is a fantastic artist. She's paved her way. She's opened her own lane. But I feel like I have my own lane. And we never cross, ever!"

Alright, we should all know who Nicki is by now, so no more Gaga comparisons?

I did compare the two entertainers again after Nicki performed that crazy "Roman Holiday" during the Grammy's back in February.

Comes to find out, the creative one behind that controversial Catholic-themed performance was Lady Gaga's ex-choreographer Laurieann Gibson. Hmmmm.

Nicki also addressed her nip slip incident that happened back in August 2011 when she performed on Good Morning America.

Nicki apologized and said she didn't do that on purpose or for attention, "People are ridiculous if they think that I would use that as a stunt. I would never, ever do something like that on purpose. I swear to God."
