President Obama's Recent Thoughts on the NBA Lockout

The NBA is still having their lockout issues as players and owners are still trying to reach an agreement either some time today or tomorrow. First the pre-season was cancelled, then the first two weeks of the regular season and hopes of a NBA season are looking smaller and smaller.

Update: 10/28 7:40 p.m. NBA commisioner David Stern has cancelled all NBA games up until Nov. 30th, oh freakin' boy!

So what does President Obama have to say about the lockout? You know the President balls himself and he was on the The Tonight Show with Jay Leno on Tuesday night and talked about various topics, one being the lockout.

"Well, look, if you look at the NFL, they were able to settle theirs — and I think they understood. Players were making millions of dollars. Owners, some of us are worth billions of dollars. We should be able to figure out how to split a $9 billion pot so that our fans, who are allowing us to make all of this money, can actually have a good season. And I think the owners and the basketball players need to think the same way. I think they need to remind themselves that the reason they are so successful is because a whole lot of folks out there love basketball. Basketball has actually done well, but these types of lockouts take a long time to recover from."
