No more Oprah! Oprah has had an amazing season finale of The Oprah Winfrey Show including a surprise from many celebrities in a Surprise Oprah! A Farewell Show that aired earlier this week.
After 25 years, the very last Oprah Winfrey Show aired yesterday on ABC.
Oprah came out and first said to her audience, "25 years and I'm still saying thank you America, thank you so much. There are no words to match this moment..."
Oprah has had a total 4,561 shows! She said the journey she shared with her audience has been amazing.
I also watched the Oprah Looks Back show that aired with Oprah reflecting on the past 25 years of her show and seeing those old clips of her were funny. A different looking Oprah with a short fro, were the beginning stages to her legacy.
On Oprah's first day of the job the show was named AM Chicago. Oprah says she had no publicist advising her, no stylist and no hair and makeup team. "Just a jheri curl and a bad fur coat," she jokingly said.
On the farewell show, which was more of a serious show, Oprah reflected back in the beginning stages of The Oprah Winfrey Show and past guests. No surprises, presents, celebrity guests or special appearances, as she said, just Oprah herself giving thanks and sharing her thoughts.
In all 25 years of her show Oprah said the one thing she felt like she was not able to bring enough attention to, even though she tried in 217 shows, was the sexually seduction, molestation and rape of children awareness.
She spoke publicly of her own sexual abuse on her show back in 1986. Tyler Perry once joined her on stage and talked about his sexual abuse. She then thanked Tyler, who was in the audience, and all the other men on her show who talked about it as well.
She said she wants her audience to keep in touch at: oprah@oprah.com her personal email account as she continues on her journey with her own network (OWN-The Oprah Winfrey Network).
Oprah tweeted after the final show, "Thanks tweeps. WE DID IT!"
Some messages I took from Oprah's Farewell Show:
- You are responsible for your life. It doesn't matter what other people do to you, you have control.
- No one completes you.
- Your life is speaking to you, what is it saying?

Oprah came to realize after just getting the gig, the show became more to her then just job satisfaction.

"It is no coincidence that I always wanted to be a teacher and I ended up in the worlds biggest classroom and this my friends will be our last class from this stage," Oprah said.
Oprah tweeted last Friday, "A lot of ‘lasts’ today. I’m really feeling like it’s the end. Still all sweet, no bitter."
